Olivia Lilley, founder and artistic director of The Runaways Lab Theater Company since Jan. 23 2012 has stepped down from her position. Lilley will remain an active member of the company as she pursues directorial and authorial positions throughout the country. She plans to expand from her already impressive record in Chicago theater. Current company members Maggie Vaughn and Gannon Reedy will share the responsibility in leadership as artistic co-directors in 2016.
The Runaways powers through the beginning of 2016 with two productions: JAIL, directed by Erin Kathryn Morril and featured in Rhinofest Fridays at 9 p.m. from Jan. 22-Feb. 26 and The Doing Drugs And Dying In Space Ritual, curated by Gannon Reedy running from March 24-27. DDADIS will be a psychedelic compilation of short plays sure to thrill and engage its large audiences, both honoring the The Runaways unique performance style and breaking new ground in Chicago’s traditional “play festival” lineup.

It’s been no party for us during these past few months of silence on our homepage. We completed another successful Kickstarter campaign, officially became a 501c3 Not-for-Profit, began hosting both Passages and Slab, and currently are in rehearsals for our upcoming play The Party House, with way more in store. If you would like a preview of the play, we have made available some party house rehearsal photos.
